Singapore celebrates National Day or Independence Day on 9 August. During the month before and after, residents will be flying the flag. Condominiums will put out flags along the perimeters of the estate fence. I like to pick a bone here. Flags should be ironed so that folded lines can’t be seen, especially when it’s new.
I would do this and I did this during the years I flew the flag at my previous apartment. I had a balcony that extends out allowing a prominent site for a flag. A country flag is a sacred symbol and should be treated with care. Flying one with wrinkles on is unbecoming. Treat it with love as you would putting on your best outfit.
